Note: There is no charge to see a medical or mental health provider at SHWS

Regularly enrolled Cal Poly Humboldt students may participate in acute and scheduled medical and counseling sessions at SHWS at no extra cost. (That is, basic medical and counseling services are included with your annual university tuition and fees).  Many common in-house lab tests (such as a Complete Blood Count, Urinalysis, or Pregnancy Test) are also free of charge.

There is a nominal (“at cost”) charge for certain diagnostic tests or treatment related supplies (such as an X-ray reading, specialized lab work, or a cast or splint).  Pharmacy is able to fill most prescriptions at a greatly reduced rate relative to outside pharmacies, though we are happy to send your prescriptions to pharmacies where you may use your insurance.  

Your provider will let you know if there are any fees associated with your visit and what those fees will be.  If the fees present a significant financial hardship to you, please ask the provider to make a referral to our case manager so that we may discuss possible solutions. It is important to us that you are able to get the care you need.
