General Hours for Medical and Counseling Services

Medical Clinic Please check below for open dates/hours throughout the year as hours are variable and, in particular, may change during holiday, winter, and summer breaks.

Counseling & Psychological Servics (CAPS): Please check below for open dates/hours as they vary from those of our Medical Clinic.  CAPS open hours generally follow the academic green and gold calendar (that is, when class is in session during the academic year, CAPS is open).

During the academic year (excluding holidays), we are generally available as follows:

      • Medical and Counseling appointments (telehealth and in-person):
        • Monday, Wednesday, Friday:  8:45am to 12pm and 1:00pm to 4:15pm
        • Tuesday & Thursday:  9:45am to 12pm and 1:00pm to 4:15pm
      • Closed 12pm to 1pm on weekdays; Pharmacy closed 12pm to 1:30pm
      • Limited availability during Summer Sessions (see calendars above)

Medical Clinic

Immunization Hours

  • Immunization Clinic Hours (during our academic year)
    Tuesday and Wednesday only:  10:00am to 11:30am and 1:00pm to 3:00pm
  • Tuberculosis Testing (TB) Hours
    Tuesday and Wednesday only:  10:00am to 11:30am  and 1:00pm to 3:00pm
  • X-Ray Hours
    Monday through Friday: 1:00pm to 4:15pm

     Pharmacy Hours

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday:  9:30am to 12:00pm and 1:30pm to 4:15pm
  • Tuesday and Thursday:  10:00am to 12:00pm and 1:30pm to 4:15pm
  • Pharmacy is closed for lunch and afternoon preparation from 12pm-1:30pm
  • Closed Weekends and Holidays - refer to Medical Clinic Student Calendar for hours during breaks and after finals 
  • NOTE: the In-House Pharmacy will be CLOSED on the following dates of the Fall 2024 Semester in addition to weekends, holidays, and dates indicated on the Health Center Medical Clinic Student Calendar - updated 10/1/2024:

         Friday through Monday  10/18 through 10/21

         Friday through Monday  11/1 through 11/4

  • During periods that the pharmacy is closed during regular pharmacy operating hours of the Student Health Center AND you want your student account billed, prescriptions can be sent to Barnes Arcata Family Drug  (you will be CHARGED the Student Health Center Pharmacy price on your Student Center account).

This is ONLY for In-House formulary prescription medications - NO over-the-counter items or special orders. 
PICK UP the SAME DAY the medication is prescribed IF sent to Barnes for Student Account Billing - this student account billing service with Barnes Arcata Family Drug is ONLY available on the SPECIFIC DAYS that the In-House Pharmacy is closed during regular pharmacy operating hours of the Student Health Center.

Please be aware that student account billing for prescriptions received at Barnes Arcata Family Drug on In-House Pharmacy closure dates may be delayed up to a few months. 

  • FPACT prescriptions can be processed at ANY California retail pharmacy. 
  • If you are willing to wait until the pharmacy reopens, feel free to request your prescription be filled at the In-House Pharmacy.
  • Last day of pharmacy services for Fall 2024 semester will be Monday 12/23 from 9am to 12pm. 

     Appointments

For non-urgent matters, please make an appointment by calling (707) 826-3146.  Some appointments can be made through your Health Portal.

If you need to cancel an appointment, please call as soon as you know you will be unable to make it. This allows us to use the open appointment spot for someone else, and to provide services for as many patients as possible each day.  We appreciate your consideration.

     No-Show Charge     

A no-show fee of $30 will be charged to your account each time you:

  1. do not show up for your appointment,
  2. do not call to cancel (707 826-3146), or
  3. are sufficiently late so that another patient cannot be scheduled in that slot.

     Same Day Service

For urgent medical needs, you may speak to a receptionist or call to discuss your concerns and determine if urgent care is appropriate for same day service.  Please keep in mind that wait times can be long, depending on the number of students who need urgent care. If your condition is not urgent, we request that you schedule an appointment. Students who come for urgent care are generally seen in the order that they check in; however, this may vary depending on the urgency of the medical condition.
