Services & Resources
The Student Health and Counseling (SHC) Center provides diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical and mental health problems. Following are the most common services we provide. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please call and make an appointment to discuss your particular problem. Please note that we do not provide care for long-term issues, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic health problems and treatment for Adult Attention Deficit Disorder. For these conditions, we recommend you establish care with a local primary care provider.
Emotional/Mental HealthSHC providers can assess your emotional/mental health, as well as alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, and can discuss options to help you get better. | |
Sexual & Reproductive HealthSHC offers a wide range of services and resources for sexual and reproductive health. | |
Accidents & InjuriesSHC offers diagnosis and treatment for accidents and injuries, such as cuts, sprains/strains, broken bones, and head injuries. | |
Coughs, Colds, & Sore ThroatsThe nurses at SHC can assess your coughs, colds, and sore throats, give you advice, and determine if you need to see a provider. | |
Nursing ConsultsSHC Registered Nurses are available for appointments, drop-in consultation and triage. | |
Vaccinations & TB TestingSHC offers a variety of vaccinations for travel and disease prevention, as well as testing for tuberculosis. | |
PharmacySHC Pharmacy offers prescription and non-prescription products at reduced costs to Humboldt students. | |
X-Ray ServicesSHC X-Ray department provides x-rays free with a nominal fee for radiologist interpretation. | |
Laboratory ServicesSHC laboratory offers a range of laboratory services. | |
Specialty Care ReferralsSHC providers can make referrals to specialists if your insurance does not require a referral to be from a Primary Care Provider. |
