Stephanie McMullen, LCSW (she/her)

Staff Psychotherapist

Biography:

My main focus is working to create a healing and safe space for you, whether you are struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, disordered eating, self-esteem, self/body image, psychosocial challenges, or are in the midst of a transition and adjusting to college life.  Many of these issues can cause stress in your daily life and in relationships with others, and even affect your ability to function in the classroom. I do believe that there is a way to honor our lived experiences while learning new skills to help manage your emotional life.

For many students this may be your first-time accessing therapy, or maybe the first time you are getting to choose to do it on your own. No matter what brings you here, my hope is to walk alongside you and help you live the life you want; the life you deserve. Whatever the reason I think it is a smart, brave and healthy decision you are making for yourself and your future. As a therapist I am here to help. You will have the space to be heard and encouraged, gain insight, build coping strategies, explore new perspectives, process pain, and experience growth. My goal is to partner with you, building a strong therapeutic relationship through being empathetic, honest, and having a good sense of humor.

Areas of Interest:

I combine an eclectic approach from many different modalities with training and experience in CBT, Attachment Theory, Somatic Therapy, TF-CBT, Mindfulness, Grief & Loss and Domestic Violence.
